Ethereum: What are taker and maker fees?

I cannot give financial advice. However, I can give you some general information about the fees for Ethereum manufacturers and takers. Would that help?

Ethereum is a decentralized platform that enables the creation of intelligent contracts and decentralized applications (DAPPS) without the need for a central authority or an intermediary. As with any cryptocurrency, two types of fees are involved:

  • Manufacturer fee : The manufacturer’s fee is charged by the Ethereum exchange if you buy or sell Ethereum for a surcharge above the current market price. This fee is usually lower than the tower fee.

  • Tower fee

Ethereum: What are taker and maker fees?

: The tower fee is charged by the Ethereum exchange if you sell Ethereum below the current market price. This fee is usually higher than the manufacturer’s fee.

If you sell your 0.9 Litecoin at 39.18, do you have to pay fees?

Suppose you sold at the assumed prices:

  • If you are sold at 39.15, you pay a tower fee of approx. 1.02% (39.15 – 39.18 = 0.03, multiplied by 100 to convert it into a percentage).

  • If you paid a manufacturer’s fee of 2.5% and sold at 39.15 when buying 39.18, the fees are approximately 0.06% (2.5% – 1.95% = 0.55, multiplied by 100 with a percentage).

In this example, you would pay around 0.06% of your transaction amount as fees.

Please note, however, that these are just examples and that the actual fees can vary from Ethereum depending on the Exchange and market conditions. It is always a good idea to contact the exchange according to your current fee structures before performing transactions.
